Hey Creatives! This year I have challenged myself to not only improve my photography skills, but also blog more, network more, just do more. As part of this challenge for improvement, I am taking part in a Creative52 project. What this means is that I will be doing a specific creative shoot every week. I will be attempting to think outside the studio (box). This past week’s challenge was: Create an image based on a single color. After racking my brain on what to do, I chose the color red. For some reason I am attracted to that color. It has so much energy and passion infused in it tones. It can evoke mood and evoke romance. The hard part was what do I do with it. Well, luck shined upon me on Facebook. A musician friend of mine (Erin Cookman) had a badass red mowhawk. At this point, it was on. We had to shoot. After scheduling a shoot with her, I needed to find glitter (herpes of craft supplies). I found it at Walmart at 630 AM. It’s awkward asking an associate where the glitter is at that time of morning. After the glitter was bought, we finally did the shoot at a parking garage in the stairway. I used my 5×8 collapsible backdrop with only natural light and a speedlight on ¼ power bounced through a 60” umbrella for lighting. Here are the results. Hope you like!
